Ms. Michelle Nevin Levine will serve as St. Ignatius College Preparatory's 16th principal beginning July 1, 2019.
Ms. Levine has been on staff at SI since 1995 and currently serves as the Director of Counseling. In her 24 years at SI, she has been a College Counselor, a Personal and Academic Counselor, and also served as the Dean of Students for nine years. Ms. Levine was instrumental in designing and implementing SI's Wellness Program in 2010 and has been the school's Crisis Response Team Leader for 13 years. In addition, she has taught AP Psychology, has served on the Admissions Committee, led immersion trips and retreats at all levels, and has been a member of the Faculty and Staff Salary and Benefits Committee.
A graduate of Mercy High School, San Francisco, Ms. Levine has a BA in Developmental Psychology from California State University, Chico, an MA in Educational Psychology from University of San Francisco, and is a graduate of the Ignatian Leadership Seminars, a three-year program to prepare lay teachers and counselors for leadership roles in Jesuit schools.
Ms. Levine's love for St. Ignatius and our students, coupled with her energy and many talents, will support the mission of our school to help students become the children of God they have been called to be.
February 1, 2019 — Barbara Gunning, Senior Philanthropy Officer for SoCal and Arizona, coordinated a Jesuits West and Friends gathering in LA on Thursday, January 24. Siobhán Lawlor, Provincial Assistant for Advancement, was present and Fr. John Mossi, SJ, spoke on the unique leadership role of Jesuits West Province.
