June 23, 2020 — Jack Krouse, SJ, of Jesuits West, was ordained to the diaconate at Saint Ignatius Church in Paris on June 20. Bishop Philippe Marsset, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Paris, presided at the Mass, during which 10 other Jesuits were also ordained deacons.

Krouse attended Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose, California, and has a bachelor’s degree in English history and literature from Harvard University. Prior to entering the Society, he worked for the White House and U.S. Department of Homeland Security. During his Jesuit Formation, he earned a master’s degree in philosophy, taught theology at Loyola High School of Los Angeles for two years, and taught religion and served as campus minister at Sacred Heart Nativity Schools in San Jose as part of his third year Regency. Krouse is currently studying theology at Centre Sevres in Paris in preparation for ordination to the priesthood.
