Dahlke, Robert W.
Jesuit Father Robert W. Dahlke died July 18, 2016. He was 82 years old.
Fr. Dahlke was born in Peekskill, New York, on April 9, 1934. He was the son of George and Maude (Burger) Dahlke. After graduating from Xavier High School in Manhattan, he entered the Society of Jesus at St. Andrew-on-Hudson on July 30, 1952.
After three years studying philosophy at Loyola Seminary in Shrub Oak, New York, he taught physics and math at Brooklyn Prep until 1962. He then studied theology at Woodstock in Maryland and was ordained on June 10, 1965, at the Fordham University Chapel in the Bronx. After tertianship, he served as the associate director of the Jesuit Seminary and Mission Bureau from 1967-1979.
Fr. Dahlke served as associate pastor at St. Lawrence Church in Sayville, New York, from 1977-1983. For the next 16 years, he was an associate pastor at several churches in New York and New Jersey. From 1999 to 2009, he served as a pastoral minster and then as guestmaster at Murray-Weigel Hall in the Bronx.
