L’Heureux, Mitch E.
November 6, 2018 — Michel Euclid (Mitch/M.E.) L’Heureux, a lifelong champion for Jesuit education, passed away peacefully at his home in Lake San Marcos, CA, in July. Mitch was a 1946 graduate of Loyola High School in Los Angeles and received a basketball scholarship to attend Loyola University of Los Angeles (now Loyola Marymount University). He graduated in 1950 with a BA in English, married the love of his life, Margaret L’Heureux, in 1953, and in 1960 returned to Loyola High School as an English teacher. Six years later, Mitch became the first Director of Admission at his Loyola University alma mater. During his quarter century of service there, Mitch traveled extensively to promote the University and oversaw its growth, including its merger with Marymount College. He retired in 1990 with a grateful heart for having served his fellow man in the true Jesuit tradition. He is survived by his wife Margaret, daughters Patti, Marie and Geri, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
