The first Jesuit school opened, in Messina, Sicily, in 1548. Today, more than 3,700 schools carry on this tradition all around the world, including more than 30 in the Jesuits West Province. Jesuit education aims to form “men and women for others” and emphasizes cura personalis — caring for the whole person in mind, body and spirit.
